This was our 25th Anniversary production. Pirates ultimately became something of a "special anniversary" event for us, having also performed this operetta for our 40th Anniversary in 1979, the Golden Jubilee in 1999, our 60th in 2009 and what will be our 70th Anniversary in 2019.
The sharp eyed amongst you will note the slight time shift between our 25th (representing the 25th G&S production) in 1973 and our 40th/50th/60th/70th Anniversaries in 1989/1999/2009/2019 representing the number of years since we were formed as a Gilbert & Sullivan Society (in 1949).
